This transformative potential of AI was the focal point of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote at Dell Technologies World yesterday, where he shared the stage with Dell CEO Michael Dell. Huang emphasized that we are now in the era of “manufacturing intelligence,” a significant leap from previous industrial revolutions that focused on manufacturing software and electricity.
Huang, along with other industry leaders like ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott and Samsung SDS President Hwang Sung-woo, highlighted the profound impact of generative AI on the global economy. According to Huang, every company is fundamentally a manufacturer of intelligence, leveraging AI to create digital intelligence that can drive innovation and efficiency.
Key announcements during the event included series of updates to the Dell AI Factory, a collaborative initiative between Dell and Nvidia. Among these updates was the introduction of the Dell PowerEdge XE9680L server, equipped with liquid cooling and eight Nvidia Blackwell Tensor Core GPUs. This server is touted as the industry’s densest and most energy-efficient solution for large-scale Blackwell GPU deployments.
The Dell NativeEdge platform was another key topic at the event. Designed to automate the delivery of Nvidia AI Enterprise software, this platform simplifies the deployment of AI applications at the edge, enabling developers and IT operators to accelerate AI application development and reduce time to value. The integration of Nvidia NIM inference microservices and deployment automation further enhances this capability.
Huang drew an analogy between the current AI-driven industrial revolution and the previous one that used water to generate electricity. In this new era, data centers function as AI factories, transforming data and electricity into valuable data tokens that can be globally distributed. This shift from merely producing software to generating intelligence signifies a monumental change in how industries operate.
Huang also highlighted the critical role of full-stack accelerated computing in enabling this transformation. Together with Dell, Nvidia is offering a comprehensive suite of solutions encompassing computing, networking, storage, services, and software. These solutions power various applications, including copilots, coding assistants, virtual customer service agents, and industrial digital twins.
Michael Dell underscored the importance of these innovations, emphasizing their ability to simplify and expedite customers’ AI journeys. He added that the Dell AI Factory facilitates the rapid adoption and deployment of AI at scale, from data centers to the edge, and will help countries to establish AI sovereignty by enabling strong data security and customized AI service development.
