Asus and Gigabyte have reported record-breaking revenue figures for June 2024, due to the surging demand for AI servers and an uptick in the PC market.
Asus saw its June revenues reach NT$58.41 billion (US$1.79 billion), marking a 30.3% month-on-month increase. This was driven by higher-than-expected PC product shipments and increased AI server sales compared to the previous year. Gigabyte’s June revenues grew 2% over the previous month to NT$22.93 billion (US$742.93 million), and its Q2 revenues were up 34% compared to Q1 at NT$73.93 billion (US$2.40 billion).
Both companies are positive about their prospects for the second half of 2024. Asustek anticipates that sales of CoPilot+ PC devices powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X Series as well as other AI PC models powered by Intel and AMD platforms will rise. The company also expects that its fast-growing AI server business will continue to build on its strong momentum during the first half of the year.
Gigabyte is equally bullish, expecting strong demand for AI servers as PC motherboards and graphics cards to drive sales and profit growth in the second half of the year.
