Building on its close relationship with Nvidia, MediaTek has announced that it will integrate Nvidia’s TAO Toolkit in its NeuroPilot SDK (Software Developer Kit). This will make it easy for developers to add Edge AI capabilities to IoT platforms powered by MediaTek Genio processors for verticals ranging from smart retail and manufacturing to healthcare and smart cities.
Featuring over 100 pretrained models, the Nvidia TAO Toolkit simplifies the customization of vision AI capabilities for multiple use cases. Its extensive library of models automates the tuning process, significantly reducing development time and complexity. As a result, even developers without deep AI expertise can quickly bring new Edge AI applications and devices based on MediaTek Genio platforms to market with minimal R&D investment.
“Integrating Nvidia TAO with MediaTek NeuroPilot will further expand our vision of democratizing access to AI, helping drive a new wave of AI-powered devices and experiences,” said CK Wang, General Manager of the IoT business unit at MediaTek. “With these expanded resources and MediaTek’s Genio product line, it’s easier than ever for developers to design innovative Edge AI products that stand out from the competition.”
“Generative AI is turbocharging computer vision with higher accuracy for AIoT and edge applications,” said Deepu Talla, Vice President of Robotics and Edge Computing at NVIDIA. “Combining the power of Nvidia TAO and MediaTek NeuroPilot SDK brings the latest and greatest vision AI models to billions of IoT devices.”
The MediaTek Genio product line is designed to support a wide range of IoT and Edge AI devices, from premium to entry-level. By adding support for Nvidia TAO in its NeuroPilot SDK, MediaTek plans to enable its customers to accelerate the development and deployment of innovative products that stand out in the market.
