Building on the momentum of the Snapdragon® X Series processor launch, Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows specifically designed for developers creating or optimizing applications and experiences for Copilot+ PCs.
Comprising a small footprint PC powered by an accelerated Developer Edition of the Snapdragon X Elite processor, the kit features 32GB LPDDR5x RAM, 512GB Fast NVMe storage, and a wide array of expansion ports, including three USB 4 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Type-A, one RJ45 Ethernet, one HDMI, and 1x 3.5 mm audio jack. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for high-speed wireless connectivity.
The aim of the kit is to make it easy for developers to build, test, and port native applications for Windows on Snapdragon using the native Windows on Snapdragon toolchain, including Visual Studio/VS Code and many other runtimes, libraries, and frameworks. It also enables developers to accelerate AI/ML workloads and run LLMs and LVMs locally using the integrated Hexagon NPU to further enhance on-device AI applications.
The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows can be pre-ordered now and will be available in retail starting on June 18. Priced at $899, it provides an accessible entry point for developers looking to engage with the latest in AI technology and Windows on Snapdragon development.
